You Are Not Alone is the second collection of poems from Robertson. Within the collection, Robertson talks about her personal experiences with anxiety and depression and the symptoms which follow her throughout her daily life. She expresses the unique perspectives on relationships and friendships and how mental health can affect these crucial aspects of life.

Robertson delves shamelessly into the depths of mental health to show the harsh reality of the effects it can have on people. It is a strong piece of commentary on so many topics and issues from a variety of perspectives, it’s impossible not to relate to some aspect of the book. Robertson takes inspiration from all around her, referencing Russian authors, X (formerly Twitter) poets and musicals. I can see elements of Elisabeth Bishop in Robertson’s use of imagery. The prose and structure read like Sylvia Plath and altogether it makes for a collection that is unfiltered and chilling in its message.

These are poems that will make you gasp and shudder and, most importantly, feel seen. This collection is a testament to modern poetry and is a perfect show of how to blend modern topics with the age-old art of poetry.
